Teenage gunman kills four at Oregon primary school
A 16-year-old opened fire at Silver Rail elementary school in Bend, Oregon, killing three children aged five, eight and 11 and a teacher before a community member shot him dead, police said. Two people were in critical condition in hospital.
Why it matters A mass shooting at a US primary school, ended by a bystander rather than police, will feed straight into the country's gun-policy fight.
