Reading the site
No cookies, no analytics and no advertising.
News photos load from the news sites. A story's photo is shown from the news site that published it, as a link to it, not a copy kept here. Your browser then fetches it from that site, which receives what any website receives when your browser asks it for something: your internet address and your browser's name and version. We tell it nothing about which page you were reading. Which site it is is named under each photo; what it does with that request is its own privacy policy's. Other pictures (from Wikimedia Commons and Pixabay) are copied here and load only from this site.
Videos load from YouTube only when you click one.
Subscribing to the daily brief
Who is responsible: Freshpress, Athens, Greece, reachable at corrections@aieye.gr.
What is kept: your email address, your name if you give one, the topics and languages you choose, and when you confirmed and which version of this notice you saw. A topic you ask us to add is counted, without your address.
Why: only to send you the brief you asked for, on your consent, which you withdraw by unsubscribing. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used for anything else.
Who handles it for us: the company hosting this site keeps your choices so you can change them; Brevo, in France, sends the mails; the publisher's own computer writes and builds each brief.
Against abuse: your internet address is never stored. For one day, a one-way code made from it counts how many forms one visitor sends, and then it is gone. The check that you are a person runs in your browser, with no service of anybody else's.
How long: a request you do not confirm is deleted after two days. Your address and choices are kept until you unsubscribe. On unsubscribing, the brief stops and your choices on this site are deleted at once; the publisher's record of your address, your choices and the briefs sent to you is deleted thirty days later. Within those thirty days, write to us if you unsubscribed by mistake.
Your rights: to see what is kept about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to complain to the data protection authority where you live. Write to corrections@aieye.gr.
